Pre-conference Workshop: ‘Mixed Effect Models using R’
ONLINE – July 6th, 2021
Brief description of the workshop
The aim of the workshop is to provide an overview on Mixed Effect Models in R – the free software environment for statistical computing. The workshop will start from basic applications of linear regression models and will explain how they can be extended to linear mixed effect models, showing their potentials for data analysis. The workshop will focus on all the critical issues that should be taken into account when using mixed effect models. Other advanced topics will be also covered, including plotting, and further extension of mixed models (as generalized additive models).
Theoretical and practical sessions will be held by Giorgio Arcara – Head of Neurophysiology Lab at IRCCS San Camillo Hospital, Venice, Italy
Target audience
This workshop is meant for researchers interested in learning how to use Mixed Effect models in data analysis.
The course material is appropriate for researchers with a basic knowledge of R (vectors, data. frames, how to import data in R). Familiarity with basic statistical analysis is also recommended.
We advise you to bring your own laptop with R already installed. We recommend installation of Rstudio user interface.
